What Is Risk?

Black's Law Dictionary says that risk is:

1. The chance of injury, damage, or loss; danger or hazard.

2. Liability for injury, damage, or loss if it occurs.

What Is Risk Analysis?

Risk Analysis is the simple act of weighing the outcome of an event or issue versus the amount of risk you wish to contribute to it.

Someone who chooses to skydive knows that they could be seriously injured, or even  killed.  But, that someone may also believe that the thrill achieved by participating is worth the risk.

A person who has received a windfall of money may weigh the outcome of putting it into savings versus investing it in the stock market.  A person may even decide to spend it on something they've been wanting.
